Jerry Week Continues With “A MIRACLE”

We return once again to The Jerry Garcia Band, this time performing Bruce Cockburn’s Waiting For A Miracle from Sept. 10, 1989 at Great Woods in Mansfield, MA.

The big man himself, Clarence Clemons, joins in on sax and the music soars!

    Great version of this tune.

I was definitely at the Saturday night show, with great seats, the night before this one. Clarence rocked out. I can’t actually remember now if my Swedish former sidekick and I did Sunday night or not, but I think we might have stayed locally and caught both nights, second night on the lawn.

Love that you might have been here. A good era for the Garcia band. Always thought this was his stronger band toward the end. The Dead could still pull off a great show now and again, no doubt, but Garcia’s solo efforts were tighter and more full of joy and energy. I tend to think his heart was here more than it was with the Dead in his last decade. It sure seemed that way.
